Is your case at NSC? I have definitely noticed a pattern of pre-adjudcation activity from NSC for cases filed in July-August 2007.

What you say is absolutely correct, but I dont see any discussion to that effect happened today. USCIS folks painted a picture of how USCIS is increasing its efficiency and how last years surge is causing problems. There was no conclusion or even an attempt made to say "Yes, if these numbers are captured, the process will be faster." On the contrary to the question of removing the country cap the USCIS captain said "It has a resource implication.."
Hope are dying away faster than the beach sand that slips away from your hand.
Only positive thing that happened today and this is my 100th post and I graduated to senior member. :D
For all those who are upset with the House hearing, please take it easy. Please do not expect the hearing to discuss the details of each and every GC applicant's case. The objective of the hearing was to bring the folks involved in visa bulletins and GC processing, and make them all publically say and agree that Lofgren-Sensenbrenner bill will not flood the country with new people on the borders but at the same time since the federal agencies did not do their job properly, so it would make sense to recapture the visa numbers, and that's it.
I think that this objective was achieved pretty handsomely without much opposition. So everybody was on the same page, other than Ranking member King, whose job in such meetings is to oppose whatever the committee chair is proposing. Rep. King did not have much to say as Rep. Sensenbrenner has co-sponsored the bill. Noticeably, Rep. Gutierrez supported the bill, which means Hispanic Caucus may not oppose it either, hopefully. So it was all good.

Way better than EB3-I/H1B in US....actually jumping out was the best thing I did before the GC train wrenk. This site keeps me aware of the latest changes in US immigration. After my wife's cad citizenship I might work in US even. Till then myself and wife...combined earn well
(I do agree as GC in US one can earn even more...I never deny that but GC is a pipe dream for India born)...actually I work incorporated (reduces tax liability)...sponsored my parents's pr few days back.

The best way is this .
1) Apply labor and I140 .
2) Once I-140 is approved have an understanding with the companyeturn to ( attorney ) that they will not stip your GC processing .
3) Return to Booming India and have fun and make money . Raise kids . Change jobs .
4) Hope that the PD will be current by the time you are 60 and ready to retire .Get your GC stamped in India by 2040 . :D
5) Retire in the USA in instead of India . :D

Just EB2 to EB3 and mention that processing of I-140's has nothing to do with the category you are in. Only at I-485 stage the category is important to obtain a immigrant visa from DOS. So make appropriate changes and feel free to modify the letter to suit your situation.

Members, who were complaining about the slow processing of I-140's at TSC & NSC, now is the time to stand up and get counted. Please take the time to review the letter and then mail the DHS Form 7001 along with the letter to USCIS Ombudsman's office.
Members who have already done so, please encourage others suffering from these delays to join this campaign to make it effective. Also, please post on this thread once you have mailed the letters, so that others get motivated to join.

Hi All!
I live in LA and would love to be a part of the SoCal community.
I'm waiting to apply for the I485. I heard from my attorney second week of June that USCIS has expedited the process and we need to file by end of July. I got my medical done in a rush and then we hear they're not going to accept applications. Any idea how long the medical remains valid?

packing the bag and back to home will be great! If we wait the way there are predicting it may not be worth!! because your may get a green card in 1....n years but the time you have spent can't be rewind for the things you have planned for previous years to implement. If let us say 20,000 visas were unallocated in 2007 and USCIS realized that on the 28th of September, 2007, they still wont be able to use up those 20,000 visas. Because the priority dates were pushed back so far that there probably isn't that many applications that have completed the fingerprinting and name check stage. So, we have another reason to believe that USCIS may not be able to use up all the visa numbers just because of the priority dates (even if they worked throughout the weekend).
So it makes sense "now" to put the cut off dates a little conservatively because USCIS has already received those applications. They should be allowed to approve them according to the visa number availability and the case status in a first come first serve basis (considering the receipt and priority dates).

However we are falling short of the $2000 target for today. Will we make it, or will we let ourselves down?
