Does anyone know the answer wheather they are proceding our DS230 till 17 of August, or next summer we should submit DS230 one more time, and this will last forever???
My attorney is just useless, maybe your lawers have information about it...
Or there is a way how we can check the status of our DS230, maybe on-line or by phone?

As someone else pointed out, if you don't drive will he/ she won't get a H1B?
This does not make sense.
I just renewed my DL in and BMV did not even ask for my visa/ passport validity and they issued me 5 years renewal (my visa expires in Oct 2008).
I can understand that based on your visa expiry date, BMV may issue only limited time DL.
I know each state has jurisdiction on these matters but there should be basically similar approach.

Now anyone can put their name in the check and encash it. If the USCIS agent is kind enough he/she would put DHS and then send for encashing...

How about if we frame a well thought out letter..and present facts and start mass mailing - maybe once a month - every month. That we they will hear from us every month - in bulk.
How about if we dont use words like bonded etc and just repeatedly request the system to be repaired. Use of words like bonded etc can send a wrong signal.
We can also add our stories in there to give that emotional/human touch - eg. I can say that I have been in this country since 1999 and still waiting. If I look at my W-2s from 2001 (when I started working), I must have consistently paid about 10k in taxes to the Federal Govt and another 3k to the State every year. that makes my tax contribution to about 90k-100k in 8years..I think thats huge and I am still waiting, for being a tax paying and law abiding citizen just because the Immigration system is broken. I am a recruiter and I recruit US Citizens in large numbers for large govt projects, offering them really high salaries - while I am helping them "indirectly" realize their American Dream - my dreams are nowhere in the horizon. My wife works in the Child Welfare System and she helps broken families get back on their feet - while she is putting together their broken families - our family is still stranded in the system with no sign of moving forward.
Just a passing thought! I thought I should run this by you all. Thanks for reading.

GC Life screwed me badly, couldn't file in EB2 2 times even though eligible because of a couple of idiots, only action item I can think for myself is re file in EB-2 which I am doing it very soon and have an appointment wirh Mr.Khanna tomorrow.

First I called my few freinds in MT, WY and RI. Passed on info them since they are local.

We should not let Cornyn down due to this bill's failure. We have to send email and thank him for bringing up this bill eventhough it failed. This will keep up his spirit and make him feel that there are people behind him even if this bill failed. As EB1 is Cureent, presume processing applications up date, EB3 is Unavailable, means no work to do for USCIS people as far as EB3 Adjudicate cases, leave EB4, EB5 categories aside which dont have many applications to process. Then the only category left for working with is EB2 and that also having ROW being current, the adjuticate applications left for processing with available visa numbers are EB2 India for time being. So this means for the next few months including this June 2008 there might be many approvals in EB2 India category, as because theres no considerable work in EB category for USCIS people except EB2 India Adjudication. So presumably all the available visa numbers will be processed effectively in the EB2 category for the fical year.

Does anyone has recently got I-485 approval after porting priority date from earliar EB3 filing.
My I-140 got approved 2 weeks back and based on priority date, I am current. Ny EB3 485 was filed in July 2007.
How long it is taking for I485 to get approved after I-140 approval when the priority date is current.

Please continue to post your comments on the letter - the sooner we can all agree upon the content, the sooner we can start sending these out.
Also, is there a possibility of having a common meeting (all retrogressed EB3 candidates) with Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren expressing our situation - just a thought.

If I may suggest it may help our funding drive if we allow smaller contributions. (20$ or 10$) both recurring and one time.
I know at least a couple of people who would do a 20$ 2-3 times a year but won't do a $50. Anecdotal but may hold true for a lot more people.

This makes a lot of sense and so does the fact that GC wait times for EB immigrants be considered as part of citizenship waittime after 140 is appoved. However, let us do this in parts, let us get the basics right before we build a castle.
Without simple effective legislations like filing for 485, increase in total numbers etc, we are talking about inhuman suffering for everyone.
I came in 1999, my friend came in 2000, he has GC, I am in 140 stage, is that fair, of course not. But then life is not fair in lots of things, and we got make things work for us.
Let us concentrate on our agenda for the time being.
